The Incredible Season of the New York Knicks.
It has now been exactly 100 days since the New York Knicks won their first championship in 53 years.
53 years! The internet didn't even exist 53 years ago! (I think)
Of course, Knicks fans always believed in the team, but many people didn't. For reference, going into the playoffs, the Knicks had +2200 odds to win the Finals. That is equal to about a 4% chance. That's the lowest odds for a champion in NBA history. But the Knicks found a way.
The moment the Knicks won it all:
Let's take a look back at just how special this season really was.
Let's start by looking at some of the Knicks crazy stats:
They had a +283 point differential in the playoffs, winning games by an average of 14.9 points. This is the largest playoff point differential in NBA history, meaning they statistically had the most dominant postseason ever.
They won 13 playoff games in a row. That's the second-longest playoff winning streak ever. (2017 Warriors won 15 straight.)
They won 9 consecutive road games in the playoffs. That's an NBA record.
They came back from down 29 points in Game 4 of the Finals, which is the largest comeback in NBA Finals History.
Now let's take a look at the captain. The man who saved the franchise. Mr. Jalen Brunson.
It's hard to describe just how great Brunson was for the Knicks last season. (and the 3 seasons before that).
Allow me to just list all his accolades from the season, so you can see just how crazy it really was.

Someone should tell him to get a picture with all those trophies in it. That would be cool.
Throughout the regular season, Brunson averaged an impressive 26 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal, on 47% shooting.
In the final game of the finals, he scored 45 points! 45! The rest of the Knicks shot just 28% in this game, and they still won because of him. Those 45 points also tied Michael Jordan for the most points ever scored on the road in a series-clinching Finals game.
Throughout the Finals, overall, Brunson averaged 32.6 points, which is the highest Finals scoring average by a Knicks player. Ever.
Also, let's not forget about OG Anunoby, who not only played great overall in the Finals, but also gave us the greatest shot in Knicks history. With the Knicks down 1 in Game 4, he tipped in Brunson's missed shot to give the Knicks the lead with 1.2 seconds remaining.
Anunoby also had a very strong regular season, averaging 17 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals on 48% shooting, and 39% shooting from 3.
And a shoutout to Karl-Anthony Towns. Even after OG's tip-in, the Spurs could have definitely still won the game if he hadn't deflected this pass to Stephon Castle on the final play of the game:
Towns also played great defense against the Spurs' best player, Victor Wembanyama, throughout the finals.
Wembanyama shot just 37% when guarded by Towns.
Towns now also holds the all-time NBA record for the highest plus/minus in a single playoff run at +258. This means the Knicks scored a total of 258 more points than their opponents during the minutes that he was playing, which is better than any other player throughout a playoff run.
Towns was also named an All-Star for the 6th time in his career. He averaged 20 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal, on 50% shooting during the regular season.
Also, shoutout to Knicks 3-point sniper off the bench, Landry Shamet, who shot an insane 91.7% (11/12) on 3-pointers in the conference finals. This is the highest 3-Point Percentage in a single playoff round ever. (minimum 10 attempts)
