The NBA Finals are set!
The New York Knicks will face the San Antonio Spurs!
Here’s a bit about each game of the Western Conference Finals, which ended last night:
Game 1:
In game 1, Victor Wembanyama scored 41 points and 24 rebounds! The game went to double overtime, and the Spurs won 122-115
Game 2:
In game 2, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 30 points and 9 assists in the Thunder’s 122-113 win.
Game 3:
In game 3, Jared McCain scored a playoff career- high 24 points and the Thunder won 123-108.
Game 4:
In game 4, Victor Wembanyama scored 33 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals!
Spurs won 103-82
Game 5:
In game 5, both teams' star players played pretty badly.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 30 points but only made 37% of his shots. (7/19)
Victor Wembanyama somehow only made 27% of his shots (4/15). Pretty bad considering he is 7'4.
Thunder won 127-114
Game 6:
In game 6, Wembanyama scored 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
Shai had another very bad shooting game, scoring just 15 points on 33% shooting
Spurs won 118-91.
Game 7:
In game 7, Shai had his best game of the series, scoring 35 points and 9 assists, on 57% shooting, but the Spurs still won 111-103.
Victor Wembanyama was named Western Conference Finals MVP. He averaged 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks throughout the series.
In Brunson and Wembanyama’s first ever matchup against each other in 2024, Brunson scored his career high 61 points, while Wemby scored 40 points and 20 rebounds!
